Kaori has two half-siblings and a stepfather in the Philippines. When she was 13, her mother grabbed the opportunity of migrating to Japan with her after a friend of theirs, whose mom works in an agency, told them about the support offered to women who have half-Japanese children.

It was only last year when she was able to meet her biological Japanese father, who initially did not believe that she is his daughter and even asked for a DNA test. They matched, but he told them that he cannot support them financially since he already has his own family. Thus, in order to help her caregiver mom with their finances, she works part-time every summer break.

 

Living abroad didn’t stop the 18-year-old stunner from dreaming of becoming a Pinoy Big Brother housemate and a local artist. That’s why when it was announced that a Star Hunt audition would take place during the Philippine Festival 2018 at Hibiya Park in Tokyo, she bravely went on a six-hour travel via bullet train alone from Miyagi Prefecture (or Miyagi-ken), which she did for the first time.

 

And her efforts, time, and money were all worth it, now that she’s one of the first eight teen housemates of the reality program’s eighth season.
